Adding page numbers

Adding page numbers

You can add page numbers to a document header or footer. Headers and footers appear only when you print the document. Headers appear at the top of the document, footers appear at the bottom.

To add page numbers:

1.On the File menu, choose Page Setup.

2.Click the Header/Footer tab.

3.In the Apply to list, select the pages on which you want the page numbers to appear.

4.In the Number from box, type the starting number.

5.Do one of the following:

To display the page number at the top of the page, click in the Right, Centre or Left box under Header.

-or-

To display the page number at the bottom of the page, click in the Right, Centre or Left box under Footer.

6.In the Auto-Fill list, select Page number. The following code appears: &[Page].

7.To select a font and text size for the page number, click Font.
