Working with the checklist

As you work on a document, you can use the checklist to track your progress. When you tick a symbol in Diagram or Map View, the corresponding topic in Outline View is also ticked.

You can use Smart Checklist to automatically tick subtopics when you tick a symbol or topic and vice versa. When Smart Checklist is on, ticking a symbol or topic automatically ticks its subtopics. Likewise, checking all the subtopics below a symbol or topic automatically ticks the symbol or topic.

To show or hide the checklist:

On the Tools menu, choose Show Checklist.

The boxes show when a tick appears next to Show Checklist on the Tools menu.

In Outline and Map View, a box is displayed to the left of a topic. In Diagram View, a box is displayed at the lower right of the symbol.

To turn Smart Checklist on or off:

On the View menu, choose Smart Checklist.

Smart Checklist is on when a tick appears next to Smart Checklist on the Tools menu.
